Angkor National Museum
Learning in the class is very valuable for the students to get knowledge to help them improve their major competency in purpose to find the bright future; Pour Un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE), Preparatory Class, has also been preparing such good program and course for facilitating its students to let them know more about the implementable theory, created through the level of the students, accordingly.

New Family Organization Visit
Nevertheless, to help them absorb the taught  theories by which PSE professors try to instruct the students more comparable between the theories that they have been taught so far with the practical environments, which are now requiring high skilled personnel to work in the company or in the organization, Preparatory Class Department collaborates with Orientation Program Department to set the schedule of study visit for each class in the preparatory class about the 19 internal skills of Vocational Training Center to help them to know more about the criteria of the skill, the benefit of the skill, the setback, and the opportunity of the skill they will have to favorably choose for their skill after finishing Preparatory Class Program, according to their talent and capability.

Not only this, having visited in the internal school, the supportive department strives to specifically arrange the study visit for the students to visit external environmental workplaces such as Micro Finance Institute, other private sectors, and study tour; hence, it is a good opportunity for them to gain more environmental knowledge, usefully.

Tour Visit, Siem Reap
However the best durable study visit is Discovery Class Program, a long period of visit, taking place in Siem Reap Province Branch of PSE, allows the students a week visit because at there so many sectors are located that are the chance for PSE students; the modern high class hotels, restaurants, guest houses are constructed and being operated for welcoming tourists who come to visit national heritage temples and natural resources of this province, magnificently.

Otherwise, during a week visit, PSE students are permitted to visit many companies, organizations, modern hotels, tourism and hospitality training centers known as Sala Bai, and Paul Dubrule to give the chance for students to get a well presentation from different potential skillful speakers who have been employing in which they are hired to work, collaboratively.

Ba Keng Mountain Visit
Meanwhile, students could ask the useful questions that are equivalent and concerned with the skills they prefer to catch up to have participated for their lifelong perseverance, potentially, so it would be good for them  to strongly gather adequate information to help rational decision making, effectively. Moreover, the students are prepared to have a travel visit to help them to know about importantly geographical location because once they have finished academic year they will have had an internship program to practice the learned theories in the real employment to see how different it is, and the students will also have a good time to know more about themselves in term of weaknesses and strengths in order to reduce bad thing and keep improved good thing they have for their future employment.

Paul Dubrule Visit
Paul Dubrule Presentation
Anyway, it can physically be a good chance to show the good representative images of PSE by its students to the companies and organizations to promote PSE well-known and to gain more collaborative and supportive partners for itself to enlarge its prestige for future opportunities. Candidly, it is also a good way for the students to manage themselves when they have departed from their family and they can also use this chance to learn from the team work to gain the concept of how to work in group, what are the obstacles of doing the task in term of group, and how to treat themselves to work and collaborate within their team, prosperously.

Nonetheless, the students can also use this time to visit Angkor Wat national heritage temple to see how naturally beautiful it is, how it effects to the whole country in term of economic aide to create more works for Cambodian people to gain more profits, Phnom Bakeng to see how attractive sun set is, and it can help students to practice English Language and others with diverse foreigners coming to visit Cambodia. Furthermore, they could go to visit Baray to swim in the cold water and take a few images with naturally beautiful resource of the place, and they all could eat Lunch and snack at there with their classmate to improve the effective communication with each other.

Antisan d'Angkor's Silk Creation Plant, Paurk

Most importantly, the students and teachers could go to visit Paurk Commune to see and know the process of growing the raw material of silk because it causes too many phases to start growing that plant within many labors to produce the last-end product, and the visitors could see many designate products from Cambodia.

Angkor Wat Visit
Prasak Micro Finance Institte Visit
Hence, the program that Preparatory Class Department strongly collaborates with Orientation Program Department to coordinate this program better and better for the student is very meaningful and valuable to expand the student's knowledge to compare what the different things between learning theories in the class and applying what they've already learnt into practical environment. Candidly, they also can learn from working as group and communicate with their classmate stronger than before; whereas, some knowledge and experiences have completely been shared to the student to keep in mind and to develop themselves, and especially what they need to do from discovery class is to effectively choose a skill or proficiency for their future effort in order to help their family and themselves, hopefully.

Phnom Krom Tour
Thus, most of which the Preparatory Class Department and Orientation Program Department strive to do for their student will benefit and help its students a lot. Both parties, the coordinative department and students, will nearby work with each other to improve and develop this program better and better for the next promotion student, actually.

Conference organization

Thanks to the Luxury Fair that was taking place from November 12th to November 14th in Phnom Penh, 80 students from the Business School as BSH2 (Business high level School) and the BSM2 (Business Medium level School and the Food and Beverage Management School (FBM3) of the French association Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE), were able to enjoy the presence of Mr. Denis MORISSET.

The organizers of the Luxury Fair in Phnom Penh, Mr. Olivier SIEBER, from the Franco-Khmer Chamber of Commerce, and his Excellency Mr. TRAC Thai Sieng, Vice-Governor of the Municipality of Phnom Penh, have kindly arranged this visit with us and also took this opportunity to visit PSE center in Stung Mean Chey.

            Mr. LA Vibol,
Director of the Vocational Training Center, Mr. Ban Vithou, Marketing Instructor, Mr. Anthony Tigé, Business School Advisor, and Miss Eléonore Iriart, Marketing Professor, helped to organize this event at PSE and attended the conference.

About Luxury

Denis Morisset explained that luxury is not only pricy inaccessible products or services, accessible only to a niche of the population, and that most people can only dream of, it is also a state of mind. It is the taste for beauty in this world and this is present in all of us. It is also what you lack, for example, in business world, time or calm could be a luxury. Cambodia has some unique strength that it should develop for that matter. For example, in the hospitality, Cambodia should identify the little things that are different and make the customers experience true luxury, whether it is through kindness, smile, respect, or related to traditions like Apsara dances, bowing and joining hands for saying thank you or saluting guests, etc.

Denis Morisset also explained that luxury brands, although they are accessible only to a niche of people today in Cambodia, must start building presence here and now. The reason is first, that although, there may be few potential customers, they have a very big purchasing power, and can make events, such as the luxury fair, very successful. He also explained that Cambodia being a small market, it is difficult if not impossible today for luxury brands to have a local presence in the form of offices or stores. So they have to rely on agents, representative or distributors to promote their brands. They have to be very careful about the control of the latest, which should have a very good understanding of the positioning of the brand, to develop a communication and display the products while respecting the value and image of the brand.
Denis Morisset also explained the importance of branding. He said that even if most people cannot access luxury brand products and services in Cambodia, and if they only buy the counterfeit today, it already means that they have a dream for it. It is also a way to spread the brand names. Once the economy will pick up, people with start getting the purchasing power and those will make the difference between the real luxury brand product and a mere copy, and they will want the original. This phenomenon has already been observed in China where consumers are really crazy for luxury brands.

Comments from a participant

Mr.BanVithou, our marketing instructor, commented that: most students, during the conference were questioning about Luxury brand whether they can be successful in Cambodia, as Cambodian people are poor and are used to counterfeit products and the prices are cheap as well.   These concerns were not answered directly but instead Mr. Denis MORISSET tried to link up with early year of China economic development versus the current Cambodian situation.   Mr. Denis MORISSET clarified that “China was also a poor and very popular country using counterfeit products.  But now Chinese people rather choose to use real luxury brand.”   He reasoned that “China’s economy is better and Chinese are more knowledgeable in term of products, as they have been working hard so they would pamper themselves with quality of products and brand.”

The knowledge that the business school students got from the conference

It was a great opportunity for both teacher and students at PSE to get a feel for the expectation in terms of quality and service expected from international luxury brand and to be exposed to an experienced professional in brand and luxury, We got some knowledge from the conference that Luxury and brand are very important for companies in Cambodia and for people as well. One more thing, we know that people in Cambodia today are poor and are used to counterfeit products and price are cheap as well. So we are so happy having this conference was so good for the students in business school, We hope that next time we will have different conferences that will be as  good as one.
