CRA Competitions 2011 (Cam food)

First, I’m very proud on myself that I have a chance to  join this event on Oct 20, 2011 - Oct 21, 2011 in SOFITEL PHNOM PENH PHOKEETHRA  this event create by the CRA (Cambodia Restaurant Association) it mean that all the restaurant in Cambodia join together and create this event.

Next, I would like to tell you about the information before the event on Oct 19, 2011 class BBA2B and class TH2B sale and marketing class in PSE came to help this event with the organizer also Teacher Tuy Sopheak came with us. One more things before the event we do a lot of work with the organizer and we can know everything’s before we do a work. On Oct 20, 2011  -  Oct 21, 2011 the organizer divide the 6 joy for us to do like, Bartender, Fruit Carving, Khmer mystery box, Registration, and Barista. In this event we can see many things like the ways how competitors do in this event. In other hands the teacher in PSE likes Mr. La Vibol, Mr. Touch Leang came to this event and have a lot of student from PSE came to join and see the way how competitors do a work. In the event time the student that responsible for the Bartender they have 5 member in this group, and they do as a Service order Prepare the win to order Clean the table, cup and flat Bring the win for competitor, Give the water to competitor, Make sure nobody interrupt the competitor ,Control all every things in the store . Moreover student that responsible for fruit carving they have 6 members they do some work like; prepare the store before competition, don not let everybody talk to competitors, Control the store, Make the store be quite, Prepare the table and chair for committee, Translate English to Khmer for competitor, Bring the fruit to display on the table, Take care about fruit no need to lost and all the student do similar job. In other hand student that responsible for Khmer mystery box they have 6 members do some work like; Service order ,Help Judge with the program ,Help competitor and give some material for the ,Look after the competitor ,Prepare some place ,Control the cooker  ,Help them to take the blow and clean some blow ,Give food to the Judge to taste. In other hand student that responsible for Registration they have 6 members do some work like; Welcome to guest , Register the name telephone and e-mail, Look after the gust, Register the competitor , Help other task that they need. However student that responsible for Barista they have 4members do some work like; Collect all cup ,Clean the cup ,Look after the gust ,Help Judge, Give coffee to the Judge. In this event it very wonder full event all student can catch the main important things from it. Especially the competitor try to do their work by hard like cooking, prepare the bad,and more things that related to the hotel can make all student in PSE know clearly about the ways how to do in hotel like they competitor do in this event.  

           

        In my conclusion I can see many people do different ways to do their job they do as a professional people in this event, they came from different restaurant and competed together to find the winner, one more things student in PSE can get experience from this event, I’m very happy that I have a chance to join this event I can get many knowledge and many experience from this event, I just have small problem form this work, but my team happy to join this event again.

Entertainment Club

      Last year, on Friday-28-Dec-2011, in Pour Un Sourire d’Enfant institute there was one action that related to cleaning day, but after the cleaning day the Director of PSE Institute had a meeting with the entire students in the campus at 4 o’clock and then he gave a feedback and some comments that related to our action.  
     After that, he talked about his announcement that related to the cleaning day: Before the cleaning day happened one time per month, but starting from now on, it will happen one time every two months. Every other month will be dedicated to the Entertainment Club, every other month to the Cleaning Day.

     First, he said that before we created this activity, we needed all students to join together to make this club a success. Why we created it? Because we want all the students to have time to relax from their studies, and enjoy together. One more thing, we don’t want our students to have stress in their brain and to reduce their stress from their brain also. Then, he wanted the students who had objective to join to go to register their name with the teacher in charge before Mon-09-Jan-2012 and at 12:00 PM was the expiry date. And each class should vote for one person that they think would have abilities to be a leader in the class. The chosen leader would be responsible for the whole class. And, after that, the leaders went to join a meeting with the Director of PSE Institute to discourse about the Entertainment Club.

     Finally, he wished all students in PSE would have a chance to join in the international day and happy New Year day but should be carefully with traveling, because now the traffic generates more accidents that can kill people in 1 minute if they are not careful with their traveling.

English Speaking Contest Forum

       Under the cooperation of English Language School and Business School, on   January 19^th, 2012 English-speaking Contest Forum was created. The event was celebrated for the first time at SPL in the purpose of encouraging all students to be confident in speaking English in communication field and public, participated by all business school students and organized by BS teachers and English teachers. ESCF took three hours (9:00am-12:00am) with the speech of Mr. TEP Vichet, Vice Dean of Business School. Furthermore, the celebrating occurred with entertainment of Khmer Traditional Dance Ken, Blue songs (guitar) and Hip-Hop dancing show.
 

       Moreover the contest was participated by 8 candidates, came from all Business School Class with different topics and 5 committees:Mr. Jason, English School Advisor, Mr. Anthony, Business School Advisor, Mr. IM Chanly, English Program Coordinator, Mr. LEAK Chenda, Administrative Instructor and Mr. Lomy, English School Director.

        The candidates had 8 minutes with conditions in order to do their own presentation in front of all participants. The contest selected the top three candidates who performed well. For the rests they were encouraged with some rewards. The winners of the contest were: The first isMiss. TENG Phady, TH1b Class,second is Mr. HOK Theang Long, BBA2a Class and then the third isMr. CHEAP Chana, TH1a Class.

SGFE Company

            SGFE Company is the company that sale char briquettes and they want to help all the people that cut trees for created the natural charcoal and one more can help to their health too. I think company’s objective is protect the environment and want the people also know the advantage of environment because the world need good environment if have no good environment the people cannot live because it can affect to our health.

And this event started on Monday 11, November, 2011 to Monday 07, October, 2011 and we divide 6 Groups and have two people for 1 group. I think this event is good for us because we can know about the situation and attitude of customers, know the road, know the way we can sell, the way of speaking, the way how to work. So, all this point can make us change the attitude to suitable to customers because sometimes we don’t know about mistakes during we say to customers and we have a lot of problems, comments from consumers and, one more thing, know about the competitors of SGFE too.


Other way, it is very important for our skill that now we studying Sales and Marketing, so we can practice and can prepare ourselves after we finish our studies. And finally, of field we have 2 points. The first point talks about party at SGFE Company and, the other talks about the 3 students that they are winners. And we say about the party of SGFE Company I think this event is good because we can make better relationships together and also got gift from SGFE.


After we finish studying, we can apply to work at there or have internship at there, because we have been completed work already selling char briquettes, so I think it is easy for us that want to perform internship at there. Even those now the SGFE just a new company but in the future I think this company will be famous because the future the people will think again about the environment and plants so they will buy the char briquette.

And about the 3 students that go to Sieam Reap, I think they are good because they will get some experience from their customers and we have different culture of provinces. If know about their culture I think 3 students have good opportunity for work at there after they finish studying at PSE. 

            Finally, I think this event is a good for students in PSE to practice and change the attitude and change everything that they have bad. And can make better relationships together between SGFE and PSE because I think in the future PSE will send students to make internship at there.

 I’m very happy that I have opportunity to join this event because it very important to me for practice and change my attitude. And one more thing, I would like to suggest to PSE should have good relationship with SGFE because in the future this company will be good for us.

Discovery Class at Siem Reap

            Discovery class is a program that the Director of Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) developed to provide opportunities for all the students in Preparatory Class (who are studying general knowledge before they go and chose the skill they will study next year). This program was designed to help them chose the skill that they think it is the best one for them to study and where they can find work to do easily.

            In this year and also in this month, from 01 January until the end of March 2012, all the students in Preparatory Class (CP) of Pour un Sourire d’Enfant went to discovery class in Siem Reap. In this discovery class, each class could go only one time and had one week for traveling and visiting.

PSE conduct this discovery class because:

PSE want all the students to know about the route to Siem Reap city and also to know about the procedure of working environment such as hotel, company, organization, national museum, tourism company, to know what they do.

One more thing, PSE want all the students to know "what they want to get from the staff, and how many skill or position they need",  in order to provide the good choice for students to choose the skill in the right way.
 
And let them try to prepare themselves to study such as abilities, knowledge, working attitude, appearance, personality, moral, computer and languages skills. 

To be clear, I heard from one student in P2C that, when her class visited the company and hotel, she thought: “I’m very happy that I had this opportunity to visit there and I was able to know about the process of working in a hotel and company, such as: how many skills they need, in one hotel or one company, how many departments they have?”.

So, she will try her best to complete what she doesn’t have and try to develop herself to be better than before to get the skills to work, especially work in hotel. Not only her think like this, but also all her classmates that visited there, they can open their mind (which skill they could work in and how many subjects they must learn to get the skill that they like), and they try to prepare themselves to be professionals, like in the real working environment.

            So, discovery class is a way to let the entire students find the good choice for themselves for a good future. And, to complete enough abilities to work in a company, the vocational training of PSE includes an experience that all the students make to get used to work during their internship.

Cleaning Day

Charity Hairdressing Night

          On 19th of November 2011, from 6:30-10pm PSE was organized the first French hairdressing night ever in Cambodia and I also had a chance to join this party because I need to help the teacher to record the contact information of the guests when they taken the photo, so PSE will send their photo later to their email or call to their phone number. In that party there was three very famous French stylists demonstrated their amazing skills to the audience and the guests.

            I feel very happy that I can join this party because the other guest must pay $25 each and $30 for the VIP seats but they also get the GALA Dinner with the fashion show, live music and dance floor. Many people especially the rich people join this party and they are look very professional and wealthy. Moreover, most of the PSE staffs also join this party because they want to help the poor children and one reason more is that they get the discount price for 50% from PSE to each but exactly they want to join the very amazing party like Charity Hairdressing Night. PSE have sponsored by SERGE COMTESSE, DECO-LYCRA.COM, SUN Supermodel, Lotus Blanc Restaurant and other… This party organized to earn the profit for helping the poor children of PSE. I was very amazing about the action of that party because I never seen the very interested party like this before. After finished the fashion show all the guests enjoy take the photo with the fashion star so I need to record the guests name, phone number and email to send their photos back and it the picture that make the guests feeling feel love it and it seem to give their photos as the souvenir from PSE and make them want to join another party or this party again, so PSE will earn the profit more to feed and to help the poor students.

            I saw many smiling face and the satisfaction from the customer idea, they said that they will join all the party that PSE organize because they want to sponsor the poor children. For me I love to help PSE as I can do like I worked in that party.

Celebrating New Year at PSE (Pour un Sourire d'Enfant)

           In 30 December 2011, PSE (Pour un Sourire d’Enfant) celebrating New Year at the afternoon. This event celebrated from 2 pm until 6 pm at the campus of SPL. So all student joined this event all together. In this event, there were a lot of entertainments like dancing, singing, have a small drink (Coca Cola), etc…. All student were very exciting because they could relax from their study to joined this celebrating New Year.

Moreover, at the end of this event all students have a small entertainment more. It’s dancing all together. After dancing all together, have one teacher give recommendation to all of them. He said that “in the name we are a student, we should study hard because you are a young. And if you study hard from now on, you must be got a good job in the future”. And after that he wished all of them good health, try to study hard, lucky, and good job.

                According from my ideas, this event is very exciting for us because we can relax from our study to join this entertainment.

Announcement to find sport player for PSE activity

            To make all the students release their stress, all the directors of PSE made an announcement to all the students who wanted to play their favorite sport to refresh during study day to join the sport club of PSE.

            An announcement raised by Mr. La Vibol, the manager of Vocational training center, said that “PSE created this activity for all the students who wanted to play their favorite sport because we don’t want to see the students of PSE got stress during study day and we want all students be in good health”. The condition to join this activity, student has to sign in and register to Mr. Ratanak or teacher in charge to make sure how many members and how to divide the sport players by groups. If someone joins one of their favorite sports he/she must come to play all the time by schedule, no absent and one student can join only one sport. “Sport is very important because sport can make people stronger, flexible and sport can make people know each other and got peace, sport also can make people reduce their stress because when you play sport all the pollution in your body will be coming out, all your anger also coming out”, Mr. La Vibol said.

            That is why PSE try to create many activity like ESAP, monitored by Lulu and Mr. Soda Chan to create an activity for students. PSE try to push and motivate students to play sport because sport is very important and sport can provide us many advantages.

            For my own opinion, I think this announcement and this activity is very nice for all students because sport can make students feel refresh and feel good for their study. And I will join this activity because I want to get good health for my study and also for my future.

One province one product

        On 15^th - 18^th of December 2011 in Koh Pich has an event. It is one Province, one product that comes from everywhere in Cambodia and other countries, such as: Thailand, Vietnam, Lao and Myanmar.

         The 6^th Cambodia import-Export 7 One Province one product exhibition 2011 plus ACMCS is entering a new era with the inclusion of the ACMECS economic cooperation framework for the first time. One more thing, they get the products from each province in their country that the product represents about their village and province. In Cambodia, we get the products from the village and one product represents one village and it shows about their habit of their village also. 

         Why they show about their product? Because they want to make people realize about their product and just see the product and know where the product come from. For example Kompong Cham province sold bean and Kompong Speu province sold cabbage and Sieam Reap province sold one beauty car. When customer see this product, they will know that where it come from. For Thailand they sold about kind of the lotions, soap, perfume, jewelry, clothes, shoes, can food, etc. 

      The purpose of this even, the first they want to make people know about their product where it come from because one product represent one village and the second for market survey. They want to measure about the consumer behavior of Cambodian people how many people use these products? Now in Cambodia has this products or not yet? Do Cambodian people like to use? And how can attract people to buy it? The third, they want to sale amount of money from customer immediately.
      I think that it is very good for all the people in Cambodia to know about another country’s product and know about culture of them that what product come from and for me I just shop around and buy a little bit products to test it at home by myself. I hope that next years I can visit it again.
